The Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan published a new study titled "Coping with Crisis: A Review of the Response to Syrian Refugees in Jordan." This study was conducted by Dr. Musa Shteiwi, Jonathan Walsh and Christina Klassen. More than three years have passed since the Syrian Crisis erupted and the plight of the Syrian refugees began. Jordan is one of several countries in the region that opened its doors to the massive numbers of those seeking refuge from the war. The estimated official number is approximately 1.4 million, with only about 15% living in refugee camps and the rest living amongst Jordanians in all parts of the country, with heavy concentrations in the north and central regions. Meeting the needs of Syrian refugees was and remains a great challenge
The Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan published a new study titled "The Economic Return for Education in Jordan, 1999-2012." This study was conducted by Dr. Musa Shteiwi and Researcher Ali Assaf. Education is considered vital for the development of nations. Developing education plays a significant role in increasing and improving the level of productivity as well as improving the average of productivity increase for the factors of production, which leads to improving the overall average of economic development. Measuring economic return is considered as one of the important factors that explain the extent to which education contributes to economic development. This study dealt with the economic return for education in Jordan according to gender, public and private sectors as well as career levels for the years 1999-2012.
